Another exciting season of Supercup is looming on the horizon and the Official takeover of Red 5 Racing by co-owner Gavin Thomas has been completed.

It was a significant moment when Thomas himself took to the stage in the Michael Sobell Sports Centre in Aberdare deep in the South Wales Valleys to announce the team's intentions and unveil

their new line-up for the 2011 Supercup Season; it came as no surprise that Thomas himself will participate in the Supercup after some encouraging showings in 2010.

There were some open jaws, however, regarding the driver Thomas had signed for the other seat in the team's second season of Supercup. Thomas said: "We are delighted and honoured to announce that we will partake in the GPVWC Supercup for 2011! We are even more delighted to welcome back to GPVWC a true friend and as good a racer as I've ever seen - my new team mate Chris Allen!"

Allen climbed up to the podium and proceeded to thank the team and to assure Thomas of his intentions of making the grid in GPVWC shake by the mere mention of his name."I had an offer to drive for Draig Racing in the Supercup, but when Gavin stated his intentions for GTR5R I couldn't help but share his enthusiasm! Make no bones about this, the rest of the field will have to push real hard to take on this pairing of myself and Gavin. We welcome the challenge and experience it will bring and hope it will push this team to the consciousness of GPVWC Administrators for the 2012 season!"

In a final moment for the cameras the pair were seen with hands aloft, a sign that there is surely a season to relish for GTR5R.
