The 2011 GPVWC Awards saw the introduction of categories for the GPVWC Supercup. The Awards proved to be even more popular than in the past, with several drivers and managers submitting their votes. The Awards results were unveiled at the GPVWC Day in Oulton Park. Here are the full results for all categories.

Best Driver

Bart de Vos added this accolade to his Supercup Champion title, and only missed out on being voted Best Driver in all submission because he himself voted for another driver. Second place was a tie between the other main protagonists of the season, Lewis Redshaw and Pavel Loknovski.

Bart de Vos - 30 pts
Lewis Redshaw - 14 pts
Pavel Loknovski - 14 pts
Jason Muscat - 4 pts
Simon Cattell - 2 pts
Gregg Lawson - 1 pt
David Jundt - 1 pt

Best Rookie

When the top three drivers in the season are rookie, it sorta makes it easy to identify the winners for this category. It is interesting, however, to see the gap between the top two reducing in comparison to the Best Driver category.

Bart de Vos - 24 pts
Lewis Redshaw - 18 pts
Pavel Loknovski - 12 pts
Erik Tveit - 3 pts
Viesturs Priede - 2 pts
Simon Cattell - 2 pts
Ryan Walker - 2 pts
Tom Parker - 1 pt
Andrejs Pestovs - 1 pt
Ric Scott - 1 pt

Most Improved Driver

The category highlighting the driver who improved the most was a very tight affair, with Ryan Walker only just edging out a spectacular Ben Warren - overall, two great success stories for the 2011 season.

Ryan Walker - 16 pts
Ben Warren - 15 pts
Tom Parker - 7 pts
Ojay Clark - 6 pts
Pavel Loknovski - 3 pts
Viesturs Priede - 3 pts
Georgios Davakos - 3 pts
Gregg Lawson - 3 pts
Ric Scott - 2 pts
Wopke Hoekstra - 2pts

Best of the Rest

Celebrating those who were always there to make the most of the leaders' mistakes, those who fought for that lower step of the podium in multiple occasions, the Best of the Rest category was won in quite a triumphal fashion by David Jundt. Tom Parker was second and Gregg Lawson third.

David Jundt - 22 pts
Tom Parker - 15 pts
Gregg Lawson - 11 pts
Ryan Walker - 6 pts
Georgios Davakos - 5 pts
Ben Warren - 4 pts
Pavel Loknovski - 2 pts
Ric Scott - 1 pt

Best Team Livery

Usually one of the most hard-fought categories in the GPVWC Awards, this year the Best Livery prize was a one-sided battle which Hawkeye easily dominated thanks to a superb artwork by Ric Scott. TDR and Malta Force tied for second.

Hawkeye - 24 pts
Triple-Double Racing - 7pts
Malta Force - 7 pts
Water Blue Racing - 6 pts
Woods Racing - 5 pts
Nordsjoen Racing - 5 pts
Nijo Racing - 3 pts
Synergetic Motorsport - 3 pts
Globe Racing - 2 pts
Draig Racing - 2 pts
Mineral GP - 1 pt
Kernow Sport - 1 pt

Best Team

When a team has two team mates who perfectly gel together, work towards a common objective and, in the process, dominate the Championship, they really do deserve this award. Malta Force did just that, and they bring home this award ahead of Nijo and Nordsjoen.

Malta Force - 29 pts
Nijo Racing - 13 pts
Nordsjoen Racing - 13 pts
Water Blue - 7 pts
Draig Racing - 2 pts
Hawkeye - 1 pt
Red 5 Racing - 1 pt

Best New Team

When the above also applies to a team at their first ever appearance in the Supercup, it is even more impressive a feat. In this category, however, Malta Force were run much more closely by Water Blue Racing, while Nijo finished third.

Malta Force - 27 pts
Water Blue Racing - 15 pts
Nijo Racing - 8 pts
Triple-Double Racing - 4 pts
Hawkeye - 4 pts
Kernow Sport - 3 pts

PB Racing - 1 pt
Globe Racng - 1 pt

Most Improved Team

A late surge of performance ensured the winner of this award is Kernow Sport, Mark Wicks's team only just getting past a resurgent Draig Racing. Nordsjoen finished third with the late-season strong performances by Walker and Warren.

Kernow Sport - 17 pts
Draig Racing - 13 pts
Nordsjoen Racing - 9 pts
Triple-Double Racing - 7 pts

CP Lotus - 3 pts
Racing Team Schroten - 2 pts
Malta Force - 2pts
Globe Racing - 2 pts

Best Starter

While some might argue that starting towards the front doesn't really help show off good starts, it is Pavel Loknovski who brings this award home, followed by launch rocket Roy Schroten and eventual winner Bart de Vos.

Pavel Loknovski - 17 pts
Roy Schroten - 8 pts
Bart de Vos - 7 pts
Georgios Davakos - 7 pts

Pavel Loknovski - 9 pts
Ryan Walker - 8 pts

Gregg Lawson - 4 pts
Ojay Clark - 3 pts
Jason Muscat - 3 pts
Chris Williamson - 3 pts
Lewis Redshaw - 2 pts
Ric Scott - 1 pt

Underachieving Driver

What seemed to be a genuine championship contender fizzled out as Sam Millar was elected Underachieving Driver of the year, well ahead of 2010 Champion Christoph Lichtenstein. Phil Perkins was third, ahead of Gavin Thomas in the rankings.

Sam Millar - 18 pts
Christoph Lichtenstein - 13 pts
Phil Perkins - 9 pts

Samuli Leinonen - 2 pts
Wopke Hoekstra - 2 pts
Chris Williamson - 2 pts
Ben Morgan - 1 pt
Liam Hatchell - 1 pt

Most Crash-prone Driver

There was little doubt on who would win this category, and Teemu Toikka doesn't like to upset the predictions of all bookies. He put a massive gap on from Sam Millar and Gavin Thomas, who finished level in tied second.

Teemu Toikka - 23 pts
Sam Millar - 8 pts
Gavin Thomas - 8 pts
Nikos Evangelidakis - 7 pts
