Alex Cooper won his second race of the season with victory at the Istanbul Park circuit. The CSG driver took victory by a margin if eleven seconds over Roy Schroten, who finally made good on his flashes of speed in previous races. Petter Kaasa limited the damage to his championship lead by finishing third, despite driving through the pain barrier with an injured knee.

For the second race in succession, Cooper shot off into an early lead with an excellent start. The Synergetic of Schroten, himself no stranger to electric starts hounded the CSG through the early stages, prompting many to wonder if the Dutch driver was on a different strategy. Unlike Montreal, Schroten would not lose to the handling of his car to the same degree.

Championship leader Kaasa again employed a strategy of running longer than his rivals, allowing the Torrent Motorsports ace to jump from fourth to second. However the Norwegian would be overhauled by Schroten, the pair enjoying a cleaner battle than they had in Montreal, and finish a second ahead of Skrajnowski.

Malta Force enjoyed the return of Skrajnowksi to the driver line-up after the Pole missed the Korean event. Marek ran third throughout the early stint but his struggles to crucially get the tyres up to temperature after his pit stop saw him lose time to Schroten and Kaasa. The Maltese outfit enjoyed another double point's finish as Terence Grech brought the second car home in ninth position.

The GPVWC old guard was represented by Adam Rouse and Philip Cullen in fifth and sixth positions respectively. The pair who have found themselves battling for position in nearly every race this season enjoyed another close battle. The result was the same as it was at Korea, with Cullen spinning his Halcyon car around at the end of the back straight in an attempt to avoid the Hawkeye car. The two would trade lap-times throughout the event but would never get close enough to continue their wheel to wheel battle.

Ojay Clark returned to the Supercup to fill in for his No Fear outfit. The Englishman who has enjoyed a new lease of life since his move to Red Archer in the Superleague qualified an excellent third. A poor getaway however would leave him mid-pack and driver errors cost him a shot at chasing down Cullen for sixth spot.

Martin O'Connor collected more points for NRT Racing with 8th position, the team likely to be disappointed with only a three point haul after showing solid pace in testing. Jamez Shepherd returned to pilot the second Halcyon car for the final point. The Australian started for the back of the field and after having to make an additional stop, charged through the field to set the fastest lap and finish in 10th.
