Halcyon Racing announced that they intend to show their support for Breast Cancer Awareness throughout the month of October. The cars will adorn pink ribbons associated with the international campaign along with a special livery.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month is an annual international health campaign organised by various charities every October to increase awareness of breast cancer. In the United Kingdom alone, nearly 50,000 people are diagnosed with breast cancer each year and is currently ranked the second biggest cause of death from cancer in the country

Team owner Adam Rouse was delighted for his team to take the lead in showing support for the cause, saying that ?while we have seen advancements in technology and awareness for breast cancer in recent years, it is still vital that we remain vigilant to it. It is also have to remember that while this is most common with women, this can affect men. A small thing like reminding someone close to us to go for a check-up can turn out to be a life changing decision. Halcyon is proud to promote awareness during the month of October.?

Halcyon?s number one driver Philip Cullen took time out of his preparations for the season run in to comment on the announcement.

?When October came around, we both sat down and talked about the prospect of doing something to raise awareness. Yes, we are in a male dominated community but i'm sure one piece of common ground we all share up and down this grid is our fondness for the opposite sex. We have mother?s, daughters, sisters and significant others that we don?t want to see go through hardship and pain that breast cancer can cause. This is our way of giving a little back.?

The team will use the special livery (pictured below) for the final two races of the GPVWC Supercup season in Suzuka and Singapore.
