Looking back with satisfaction at the team's strongest start of the season in recent years, the three-time World Champions warn against complacency in what is still a long season.
Four races in the 2016 season, Nordsjoen Racing sits on top of both standings, 24 points ahead of Edonis Engineering in the Constructors' Championship, while David Fidock enjoys a 17-points cushion over second placed driver Eros Masciulli. The English driver brought the team its first win in a year in Spain.

It is a welcome resurgence for the popular team, which enjoyed its biggest spell of success between 2008 and 2011, winning three Drivers' and Constructors' titles before slipping down the order - a seventh place in 2014 the lowest point in recent years.

At the Norwegian team's headquarters, however, everyone is wary of reading too much into the current season's results so far.

"We enjoy being on top and we think it's testament to the great work everyone in the team is doing," said Team Principal, Will Ponissi. "But it's a long season and there are many variables that will contribute to the final outcome, so we take nothing for granted."

Drivers Fidock and Florian Geier have been one of the most solid pairings on the grid, with the German's haul of 38 points playing no small part in the team's performance.

"Both David and Florian are showing why we put trust in them, and are making the most of the NR009," said Ponissi. "But it will take a mighty effort to keep to this level for the rest of the season."

It's not just the obvious rivals that worry the team - Midnight Motorsport, having been blighted by a run of poor luck, is clearly not where their real level would put them, and other teams have suffered misadventures.

"There is very little to separate the teams: look at the good job Edonis are doing, and at some of the results Storm, Wauters and Woods have got. The season is long, the engine turnover and the development race will play a big role. We need to keep our game sharp - if we do it, we know we can be in the fight for titles until the very end."
