Scottish Formula Challenge team, McKinlay, took to the track early Monday morning to offer the first glimpse of their 2018 livery.

The bold blend of white, purple and a vivid pink is the end result of the team's work to deliver upon their promise of a bold, fresh and vibrant look in contrast to the more conservative liveries sported by Williamson Dynamics' previous GPVWC entries.

"It's actually taken several iterations to get here," stated team principal, Ben Williamson.

"From the concept stage, we moved from a very purple heavy concept to a cleaner, majority white design. What we knew all along was that we wanted a distinctive palette with strong lines and a bold contrast. In an ideal world, we'd have an even cleaner, sharper look but we're all delighted with the marriage of aesthetics and the practical requirements of a motorsport livery that delivers exposure to partners."

Despite the involvement of an independent artist in the early process, the end result adorning the car is the work of Bastian Paisler.

"Bastian did a phenomenal job, we're immensely proud of this look and his work has been invaluable in realising our vision - it's taken revision and refinement but Bastian proved himself highly talented early on so that we felt comfortable in his understanding of the concept to a level that enabled us to offer maximum freedom to him in its execution."

The team rounded out the launch event by confirming the widely held assumption that the team's number 72 machine would be driven by Colombian Osvaldo Angelone, the result of a one season tie-up with Cosmo Autosport.

"We're very happy to welcome Osvaldo into the team and aim to support him in refining and developing his talent and skillset. Osvaldo and Dominic present, we feel, a competent and promising line-up as any you'd find on the grid and we anticipate a difficult, but rewarding season ahead which delivers progress on a race to race basis."

With both drivers signed on a one season deal, team dynamic over the season will certainly prove interesting to watch, with the team's historical reluctance to favour either side of the garage sure to be tested as the desire for consistency conflicts with the aim of securing an adaptive and capable lineup that can take the team forward continually over the coming seasons.
