Report

Pavel Loknovski led the field away and would go on to win the race.
Jason Muscat pulls off a great pass on Loknovski at St. Devote.
Liam Hatchell gets some air moments before retiring.

Pavel Loknovski clinched his maiden win at the Monaco Supercup race followed by Jason Muscat who was a close 2nd. It was a day of deserved firsts as Gregg Lawson took the final step of the podium. It was an eventful race and with eleven drivers finishing, surprisingly high for a circuit like Monte Carlo.

Qualifying was led by Bart De Vos who was very unfortunate to suffer a mechanical failure on the formation lap to the dismay of the spectators and the Malta Force team. It's the second race in a row that the pole-sitter has not had the privilege of starting from pole. Loknovski who started 2nd took the opportunity to keep his cool and win the race fending off Muscat who also suffered a problem late in the race. Behind them Lawson who had battled with Ojay Clark earlier found himself being hunted down by David Jundt in the closing stages but managed to take his first podium of the season.

After the race Loknovski took over the lead in the championship from the unfortunate De Vos. Lewis Redshaw was a noteable absence from the Monaco GP but with the announcement of his move from Nordsjoen to Malta Force he was still expected to be in the fight for the title.
