PENALTIES
Bock vs Maguire - Bock outbrakes Maguire on the outside and completes the move. As both drivers start to turn in, there is no overlap between the cars. As the cars continue the corner entry phase, Maguire moves back alongside and is in the process of releasing the brake as he makes contact with the rear of Bock's car. As Bock was clear ahead, he had the right to start turning in and it is up to Maguire to avoid as the car behind. Penalty Adam Maguire for Avoidable Contact - 20 second time penalty and 3 LC points. Bock vs McGaugie - Due to the turn 1 incident, there are 3 cars along side each other off the track. It's not expected that any of the drivers would have fully appreciated that they were 3 wide. There were multiple factors in the incident, as follows. McGaugie was aiming to rejoin the circuit as late as possible before the grass, which is a sensible direction to take. Unfortunately, Gobbi being the closest to the track was trying to do similar, although could have rejoined the circuit safely earlier which would have left more space for McGaugie and Mlynek in the middle. As a compounding factor, as the cars converge Mlynek has a wobble on the astroturf which causes contact in a narrowing gap. The 3 cars tangle and collect Bock, who could have been further to the right on track but would have been unaware of a need to be as the other cars were off track. Ultimately, it is not possible to place the blame on any one driver, as all 4 would have been unaware they were 3 wide to act much differently. Racing incident. Mlynek vs Wach - While Wach notices the incident relatively late, he still brakes at a similar time to drivers around him. The car Wach is approaching does initially look to be heading off track which may have contributed to the reactioj time. Ultimately, Wach ends up in a position where he is unable to take any further avoiding action due to other cars arriving onto the incident faster and blocking his possible routes. Racing incident. Whitehouse vs Fidock - Fidock fails to leave the required space for the car alongside as per 23.7, forcing Whitehouse off track. Penalty David Fidock for Pushing Off Track - 10 second time penalty and 2 LC points. Whitehouse vs Fidock - Fidock cuts the pit entry line, in breach of the briefing directions. Penalty Fidock for Unsafe Pit Entry - 5 second time penalty and 1 LC point. Whitehouse vs Fidock - Fidock cuts the pit entry line, in breach of the briefing directions. Penalty Fidock for Unsafe Pit Entry - 5 second time penalty and 1 LC point. Whitehouse vs Fidock - Fidock cuts the pit entry line, in breach of the briefing directions. Penalty Fidock for Unsafe Pit Entry - 5 second time penalty and 1 LC point. Gobbi vs Bock - Covered in earlier protest, but Bock wouldn't have known he was 4 wide, but does still leave a lot of space to his left. Racing incident. DC vs Maguire - Rouault gets a substantial overlap with Maguire entering T1, after getting the overlap, Maguire turns in more to take his normal line for the apex despite Rouault being alongside and therefore entitled to space. Maguire fails to leave the space and runs Rouault over the anticut, this causes Rouault to spin and ultimately creates a large part of the chaos that ensues at T1. Maguire needs to be more careful into T1 on the opening lap and leave the required space. Penalty Adam Maguire for Pushing Off Track - 10 second time penalty and 2 LC points. DC vs Spork - Spork arrives too fast into T1, has to cut the corner and makes contact with Mlynek, contributing to Mlynek and McGaugie needing to take to the run off in the ensuring incidents. Spork needs to be more careful into the first corner at the start of the race. Penalty Collin Spork for Avoidable Contact - 20 second time penalty and 3 LC points. DC vs Pansar - Pansar reacts too late to the incident ahead, arriving too fast and causing further contact for multiple drivers, including hitting the back of Zappala, then fails to hold brakes after initial contact to avoid any further incidents. Penalty Robin Pansar for Punt - 20 place grid penalty and 4 LC points. DC vs Russo - Russo continues to drive full throttle into a closing gap between Geier and Saracino. Russo does not have an overlap on Geier until the last moment and keeps full throttle after contact. This causes a significant incident on the start/finish straight before T1. Russoneeds to drive which much more care especially on lap 1 to avoid this kind of incident. Penalty Russo for Avoidable Contact - 20 second time penalty and 3 LC points.
