Superleague

The 2007 GPVWC season was the eighth Superleague season in league history. It ran from early March and ended in late October after seventeen Grands Prix.

The 2007 season was significant in that, for the first time in league history, there were no changes in teams between the end of the previous season and the start of the new one. No teams had departed, and no teams had joined.

2007 was also noted as being the latest start to a pre-season in league history at the time, with new testing and development rules introduced that will allowed teams to purchase car improvements instead of earning them solely through on-track testing.

New entries

For the first time in GPVWC history, there were no changes in the team line up during the break between seasons. All the teams that finished the 2006 season entered the 2007 season.

Team changes

  • The first casualities of the season were Bracciano Racing who left the league after just 3 races and were replaced by the all Spanish Atabla Racing team.
  • Following troubles with their driver lineup, the EIRE pooled their resources with FinOz Racing from Round 11 onwards. EIRE's vacant spot was filled by another new Spanish team in the form of Platform Michelangelo.
